I recently got a new computer and was having the same exact error. I had origin on my computer so I contacted customer support and they told me to download this super patcher. Again I had the same problem with it telling me I don't have the Sims 3.

I'm considering just dropping an extra 20 bucks and buying The Sims 3 on Steam as I've never had a problem with them and have had many with Origin. Boomer Is your computer a pc or mac? Whether you buy TS3 from Origin or Steam it's the exact same game. EA would no alter the game for Steam. Are you using a proxy? What is the version of the game? What antivirus and malware do you use if any? The game runs. Do you have an ssd drive?

Is anything unusual about your computer? Are you trying to bypass the launcher? If your computer is a pc please post your computer's dxdiag - thank you. The game has to be activated online probably through Origin and there seems to be a communication problem.
